Baby Love

Is it just me or is this little guy handsome?  He'll be 9 months old tomorrow and is just working on crawling.  His favorite thing to do is stand up holding on to something but he's still not very sturdy so there's been a lot of head bonking around here.  Cole is a great eater (much better than his brother I must say).  I'm really not lying when I say he is always in a great mood!  Every time we go to get him from his crib he gives us the hugest grin and kicks both legs in excitement.  I don't know how we got so lucky!

Obsessed with puffs!

4!!

I can not believe he is FOUR!  When did this happen.  I look at Cole all day and feel like I am looking at Tate...it seems like days ago.  We try to make Tate's birthday as special and separate as can be from Christmas which is four days before his birthday.  This year we decided to hold off on a big friends birthday party and just had a low-key birthday dinner the Sunday before with family and invited one of his best buddies Jackson and family.  He loved it and we all had a great time!

I was pretty excited about this awesome cake I made...

Tate is still so honest and open.  He always tells me right after he does something naughty.  The other day he marched into my bathroom and said, "mom, I took a huge poop and I clogged the toilet, but don't worry, I reached in and pulled out all the poop and toilet paper and put it in the sink"...and he did.  Anyway, I was upstairs getting ready and he walked in and declared, "mom I tasted the cake and it is delicious".  I ran downstairs to see (thinking maybe he put his finger in the frosting) but nope...just leaned in and took a few bites.

On December 20th, his actual birthday, we had a nice family dinner just the four of us and left over cake and ice cream.  Of course Tate is not wearing pants...but hey...it's his birthday...what better way to celebrate!

Christmas 2013

Since I am so very far behind in blogging I'll just share a few of my favorite pictures and highlights from this last holiday season.

Gingerbread decorating with friends at Snoqualmie TPC...

I took these pictures to share with my grandmother Mary Lou who knit the boys stockings...

Our first year hosting Christmas Eve dinner was so fun, we wish we could do it every year!
Even Darth Vader showed up and greeted guests. :)

Christmas Morning...Santa delivered!  The orange truck - the one and only thing Tate asked for!  I love Cole diving for the puffs in the back-ground.

Guess who?

I thought it would be fun to get a few pictures of Cole at 6/7 months wearing the same outfit as Tate at the same age.  Pretty strong resemblance if I do say so.

Fall

The Carhartt's from his cousin Gabe finally fit!  Tate broke them in this fall helping in the yard!

Fall Birthday Extravaganza!

Todd, my mom and my birthday's all fall within the same week so we always get together for a joint birthday dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Shay!  Good times were had by all!

Baptism

Grandma and Grandpa Shay, Great Grandma Pete and Godparents Mike and Katelyn all attended Cole's Baptism at St. Joseph's Church in Issaquah on Sunday November  11th.  Of course we were all wondering how it would go, we had Grandpa Shay on stand-by to take Tate outside and play if he got bored but to our surprise he was an angel...he must have known someone was watching. :)  How cool is it that the priest's name was Father Todd!  Welcome to Catholicism Cole!  Thank-you Grandpa Shay for your wonderful photo's!

Halloween

This past summer at the Museum of Flight, Tate spotted a Astronaut costumer in the gift shop and he's been talking about it since.  So for Halloween we decided to get it for him.  Cole wore The Sheriff costumer Tate wore at 10 months.  They sure looked cute!
