Little Helper

Tate absolutely loves to "help" with projects around the house...daddy and Grandpa are his favorite people to help but he also loves to help mommy sweep, dust and most recently cook. Whenever Tate see's daddy get out the tools to work on his mountain bike or fix something around the house he sprints to help him. He works right beside daddy using tools and copying his every move. Here are a few pictures from last weekend:

Helping dad with some yard work (although he was actually sweeping the bark onto the sidewalk)

Helping mom make Butternut Squash Soup. Shortly after this pictures was taken he accidentally bumped the spatula and it flipped out of the pot splattering soup which was OK because he helped me wipe it up. :)

He even parted with his bunnies for an hour and a half so we could wash them!

We started with one bunny (from Grandma) but soon realized back-up's are essential incase one ever gets misplaced or needs to be washed.

Aquarium Date

Tate's obsession of the week is Nemo! He's been watching Finding Nemo almost daily (well about 15 minutes a day - he is far to busy to sit and watch an entire movie). We headed to the aquarium today for the second time this month.

His favorite part of the entire Aquarium is the scuba divers in the front tank that are only there from about 9:30-10:30am. We watched them for a good 20 minutes. He kept pointing and yelling "man"..."took Nemo"..."man", apparently remembering the scuba diver who captured Nemo in the movie.

We came back to the front tank on our way out. Tate barged right in front of the crowd of children sitting and listening to the lecture to get one last good look at the "man".

Before leaving I had to buy Tate this souvenir in the gift shop since he was so into the scuba divers. He hasn't put it down since.

All Aboard!

This morning, Todd met friends to watch the Seahawks game and Tate and I headed to the 37th Annual Model Train Show at the Pacific Science Center. Tate loved seeing all the model trains and I loved watching him have so much fun!

Of course the Thomas the Train models were his favorite.

Mr. Mischief

Somebody got into the Vaseline....

Tate must realize how important it is to stay moisturized in this cold dry weather.

This is pretty much what his bedroom looks like at all times now.
Who knew emptying a book shelf was so much fun!

Happy Birthday Tate!

I can not believe my sweet Tate is TWO!

While TWO has it's challenging moments, I think this is the most fun age by far. Every day you are putting new words together and I love that we are able to have conversation. "OK mommy" melts my heart every time.

Your energy amazes me! No question about it, you are 100% BOY. You are obsessed with construction vehicles (front loaders, excavators and bulldozers in particular), tools, trains, lawn mowers and garbage trucks. It's funny the one thing you are not very interested in are cars. You are a picky eater, I think you would live off goldfish crackers, french fries and soy milk if I let you.

You are a true guys guy. You LOVE wrestling with your dad and helping him with projects around the house or yard. When Grandpa, Uncle Mike or Daddy are around, Aunt Kate, Grandma and I hardly exist.

I love watching your growing imagination while playing with your toys. Yesterday you had all the Thomas the Train toy pieces going for a ride in the fisher price school bus, then your power ranger was visiting the animals at the Fisher Price Zoo.

You keep me on my toes for sure! I can never leave the room for a moment without you getting into something. Just yesterday I left you in the basement for 5 minutes and returned to find you dumping an entire bag of goldfish crackers and running over them with your lawn mower grinding them into the carpet.

I love you more than anything! Happy Birthday Tate!

Happy New Year!!!

Welcome! I actually set this blog up over two years ago planning to post my first entry when my son was born. I never made that first entry. Time went by and I never knew when and where to begin. Now that he is TWO I have decided better late than never! What a perfect way to start off the new year!
